i dont think it sounds pathetic at all. I've actually gone to all the other "incarnations" except this tour, and, like you, had a lot of fun and the band usually played ok, but the "x-factor" is definitely missing. I dont know why I was not even tempted to go this time (i would have hit the worcester show too since i live pretty close), but i just couldnt do it. Of course, only being newly sober for seven months may have played a part too - a bit too many temptations :)

I echo your thoughts, but hope everyone who goes has a blast and the band kicks it up :)

Hey Dire Congrats on the 7 months.

I was not going to go but after listening to the recent uploads decided to check for tix at Nassau - they were still available and my friend was up for it so we are going.

If you squint a little Warren looks just like Jerry!!

:)

Ah! My mom's a friend of BW's and I'm getting her more into the dead... maybe one day I'll find a way to get her to a Phil or Ratdog show and we can hang out with the Wharf Rats. I imagine they are probably the most centered people in the whole damn audience.

Well that's too bad that the one thing that contributed to you not going is one of the things that makes it more worthwhile for me these days. Not that you knew, but I would have loved to have hooked up at the WharfRats table. One thing that has really been a blast is wearing my WharfRats shirt (the one with the circle and triangle in the middle of the Steal Your Face) and just having people coming out of the crowd to shake my hand, say hi, give me their sobriety date. It really adds a new dimension to the show.

Where do you hail from? I am in Southern NH.

that definitely would have been cool hooking up at the show!! :)

i cant say my sobriety played a HUGE part in me not going - highly doubtful i would have gone anyways. certainly wouldnt stop me from seeing a phil show though, as it has been a few years since i hit one of those up.

I just moved from Attleboro to West Springfield Mass this past weekend. So not too far from your neck of the woods (i hate that phrase - always makes me picture Al Rocher doing the weather). And damn - I would love to get a WharfRat shirt/hat/etc - never really seen them - well, probably not true, but i never made the connection if I did.

certainly would have been fun hitting a show with another sober Head. glad to know you are sober too - isnt life just so much damn better!! :)

It sure is a lot better, and congrats on 7 months. These first few months were a bitch for me. It get's even better as time goes on I celebrated 10 years last September by going to see Hot Tuna on my DOS!

And I got my shirt through the mail from them after contacting them online http://www.wharfrat.org/

At the time they had both triangle (aa) and square (na) versions. You can hit them up but it may take a while to get a response as the tour is on right now
